‘The Four Agreements’

Gaahh I can’t believe the first weekend of yoga teacher training has come and gone! So fast! A huge shout out to the Lotus House of Yoga staff for being so amazing and your willingness to help me with this journey!! Although there were some technical difficulties, you guys did not give up on me! You kept trying and trying until you were able to get through! Thank you ladies!

Friday night was opening night and it was beautifully lead by the one and only Sarah Rasby! πŸ’› . Then on both Saturday and Sunday we had several rigorous lectures, labs and of course, some yoga flows 😊

I started reading the teachers manual Friday night and literally could not put it down! Before I knew it, I was reading materials for the entire weekend. It was so inspiring and easy to read!

One thing that really stood out to me was when they talked about ‘the four agreements’ by Don Miguel Angel Ruiz. After reading this passage, it made me want to live this way, on and off the mat. It made me want to have such positive energy and vibes, that other people around me feel it as well! I am so incredibly proud to say, now as part of the vibe tribe, I do upon agree to living ‘the four agreements’ on and off the mat πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ½

The following are passages in the LHOY TTM.

‘ 1) Be impeccable with your word

— speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word to advance truth and love.

2) Don’t take anything personally

—- nothing that others do is because of you. Often, it is not even related to you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream and their own experience. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering. Choose how you respond to action rather than mindlessly reacting to it. Be the maker of your own destiny.

3) Don’t make assumptions

—- find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4) Always do your best

—- your best is going to change from moment to moment. For example, it will be different when you are healthy and when you are sick. Under any circumstances, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgement, self-abuse and any regrets. ‘

I literally read this like 273662736 times last night you guys. 😍😍 I think that it is so true, so powerful yet so simple at the same time, but as always, it is easier said than done. I will try my hardest to live by these four agreements and I challenge you to do the same πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜˜β€οΈπŸ™πŸ½
