My high school sweetheart ❤️

I met this boy when I was just 16. Little did I know, he would one day be my loving husband and the father of my child.

We graduated high school together and went on to college and graduated together as well. This is the sad part… he got accepted into med school in Nevada while I got accepted into pharmacy school in Nebraska! So yes, a long distance relationship is what we did for 4 years!! I have to tell you, it was one of the most difficult things I have ever had to do. I remember our very first time separating. I was flying back from Reno to Omaha and I literally could not stop crying!! I vividly remember having a layover in Denver and I facetimed him and he was crying as well 😭😭 lots of tears for several weeks there you guys!

But as things continue to move forward, I got more used to not being around him all the time, and of course pharmacy school kept me pretty busy so it helped tons. Nonetheless, we would FaceTime every day, even when we were studying. We would just have the iPad or the laptop there with the other person on screen. We wouldn’t say anything because we were each studying but still, seeing him makes me happy.

Every couple is different, so to me, there isn’t a one recipe where you just do all these things and you will be happily ever after! I wish it was that easy too! Ha!

For us, there are a few very important things that without it, we would not be where we are today. We both support each other endlessly. No matter the situation, whether it’s as simple as what movie to watch or as important as which specialty he should choose, we can always count on one another. Secondly, we kiss and hug each other everytime either one of us leaves the house for work or for grocery shopping and definitely before bed. We probably hug each other like 20 times a day if we’re together for the whole day. We find comfort in those hugs, it almost feels like time is stopping for a few minutes when we hug, it remind us of our younger days, of why we fell in love with each other in the first place.

I know it’s not really a ‘list’ and like I said I wish there was some sort of long lasting relationship recipe, but there isn’t! You fell in love with your soulmate, the feelings that you share is between you two and nobody else can understand. So I encourage you to take a few minutes and just think about your relationship, what is the one thing, or even two things you absolutely cannot go without from one another, and it is those things, that will make the sparks long lasting!❤️❤️

Much love to all!! And good night! ❤️❤️😘
